Do tutors have to pay any fees or percentages to the MyTutorWorld.com website company?
1. There is no cost to the tutor to register with MyTutorworld.com. We work with you to encourage students to book time with you and when they do, we collect all tutoring fees on your behalf. Our administration fee is 20% on the first $500 you make per month, and 10% on the additional earnings that month.

How does the payment from student to tutor work?
2. The student does not pay the tutor directly. Students purchase MyTutorWorld credits through the store, and then use these credits to pay for their sessions with the tutors.

Tutors are paid on the 15th and last day of each month. The amount tutors receive is calculated by multiplying the number of tutoring hours for the month times the rate per/hour less the administrative fees stated above.

How does the Drop-In-Centre work?
3. The Drop-In-Centre acts as a meeting place for students to connect with tutors. Tutors login to MyTutorWorld, click the "drop-in centre" tab, select the subject or subjects they are able to help students with, and they enter the drop-in centre.

When a student goes to MyTutorWorld.com and clicks on the "20 Minutes of Free Tutoring" button, they are asked to select a subject they want help with. If there is an available tutor at that moment, they will connect with them. If there are no available tutors for that subject, the student enters the Waiting Station until a tutor becomes available.

How does the live-interview work? Will a moveable webcam be necessary?
4. A webcam is not necessary for the Live Interview, only a microphone is required. "Live" Interview is a valuable self-promotion tool. Using the "Live" Interview option you, as the tutor, have the opportunity to meet the students and/or parents (over the Internet) to promote your tutoring skills.

When you register as a tutor, make sure you click on "Live Interview" as one of your
subject offerings. We suggest you choose the "no charge" option. The "Live
Interview process will then be available for your use.
