System Requirements

Before you register, make sure your system meets the following requirements:  Windows 98, 2000, ME, or XP  PC Pentium III 400 MHz or higher (MyTutor is not yet Macintosh enabled)  64 MB of available RAM  Sound card plus headset, or microphone and speakers  PC video camera (with updated device driver, recommend no more than 3 years old). Logitech QuickCam Messenger is a great choice.   Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher  DirectX 8.0 or 9.0 (DirectX creates a platform for displaying multimedia applications such as video and audio)  High-Speed, Wireless, TCP/IP network connection

Before you log on:  Connect your headphones.

Two Options:

1. Connect the headphones to the soundcard of your computer (connections are located on the back of your desktop CPU or if you have a laptop locate the headphone icon).

2. Plug your headphones into the outlet on your remote speakers.

Install and activate your webcam (install the software before connecting the camera to your computer and follow the instructions on your monitor)  If your camera has a built-in microphone AND your headset includes a microphone, we recommend that you use only the microphone built into your camera. Do not plug in the microphone on your headset to your sound card.  If you are running a firewall or have an anti-virus program installed you may be asked for permission to allow for information to be downloaded from eyeball.com and/or interactivelearning.ca  You may have to disable your pop-up blocker if you don’t agree to always allow material from interactivelearning.ca and eyeball.com onto your computer. Before you log on to www.mytutor.ca other messaging devices must be disconnected or disabled (AOL Messenger, Instant messenger, MSN Messenger).
